Code of Conduct
Contrast Security, Inc. is committed to maintaining a respectful, welcoming, collaborative, transparent, and productive environment. We assume positive intent with respect to all participants but also want to make it clear where we stand on certain subjects.
This Code is in place to ensure that any unacceptable behavior occurring on this channel, or any one-on-one communication(s) or encounter(s) where actions could impact the safety and well-being of participants is addressed.
Accept this Code in the spirit in which it is intended, a guide to make it easier to enrich all of us and the technical communities in which we participate (viz., the ability to share information, etc.).

The personal information of individuals in this channel is not to be shared without the express, written consent of the individual as it can represent personally identifiable information. The information of individuals in this channel is not to be sold under any circumstance.
Respect
Participants come from diverse backgrounds, lifestyles, and locations. We will challenge any prejudice that could jeopardize any person, principle, or project. Diversity is an asset that enhances our creativity, innovation, and growth. We embrace different cultures, backgrounds, and experiences as they allow for issues to be seen from varied perspectives.
We have zero tolerance for language or visuals that are violent, harassing, bullying, and/ or intimidating. Any violation can result in a participant being banned from the group/ channel. Examples include level of experience, sex, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disabilities, personal appearance, race, ethnicity, age, religion, nationality, or other defining characteristic.
Disrespect towards differences of opinion are not tolerated.
Participants who advocate violence, post threats of violence or violent language will be banned and reported to the appropriate authorities if need be.
Spamming, trolling, flaming, baiting, or similar behavior is not appropriate.
Whether you are a regular contributor or new to the group, we are all about making this a safe, friendly, inclusive environment. We’ve got your back on all fronts.
Transparency
Give credit where it is due. Respect copyright laws and ethical attribution standards. This applies to any documentation or code. Any documentation or image that violates the law, is plagiaristic, or not ethically sound will be removed and the participant banned. If you believe a standard has been violated, raise it in the channel. Again, we assume positive intent and the perceived violation may not have been intended as malicious. Please email compliance@contrastsecurity.com if the issue is not resolved.
Productivity
Get to the point. Feedback and suggestions are welcome but this channel is not intended to be a place for extensive discourse. Instead, create a blog post and provide a link.
Collaboration
This channel is all about collaboration, reciprocity, and shared learnings. All contributions are voluntary. Recommendations and bug reports belong here; demands don’t.
Reporting/ Concerns
If you have any concerns, are the subject of or witness any violations of this Code of Conduct, please email compliance@contrastsecurity.com.
Moderators will take any action deemed appropriate commensurate to the issue at hand, up to and including banning from the channel and/ or reporting to authorities if required to do so. More specifically:
- Remarks that moderators find inappropriate, whether listed in the code of conduct or not, are not allowed.
- Moderators will first respond to such remarks with a warning.
- If the warning is unheeded, the user will be banned.
- If the user comes back and continues to make trouble, they will be permanently banned/ blocked.
- If a moderator bans someone and you think it was unjustified, please take it up with that moderator, or with a different moderator, in private. Complaints about bans in-channel are not allowed. You may also contact compliance@contrastsecurity.com.
- Moderators are held to the highest of standards. If a moderator creates an inappropriate situation, they will lose their moderator privileges.
